Sri Rangaswami was priest in Anandathandavapuram temple, near Mayavaram. Due to the blessings of a sage,he had acquired the mantra siddhi of Sri Panchamukha Hanuman. Whenever he used to start chanting the Panchamukha Hanuman mantra, a 10 year old boy near his neighbourhood would start speaking in chaste sanskrit. Not knowing what to do, Sri Rangaswami approched the supreme source of guidance, Paramcharya.
The Paramacharya understood that it was Lord Hanuman speaking through the boy. Paramacharya organised a Sadasof Pundits from various regions such as Kerala, Andhra Pradesh and TamilNadu. At the Sadhas. Sri Rangaswami started the chanting the Sri Panchamukha Hanuman mantra. The 10 year old boy started to speak in chaste sanskrit.The pundits at the Sadhas asked him questions at random, relating to Vedas, Puranas, Ithihasas, Mantra Yoga, Tantras, Shastras, Agamas etc., The 10 year old boy replied all questions effortlessly and perfectly with supporting lines from the original works in Sanskrit. Paramacharya explained the sadas that divine presence of Sri Panchamukha Hanuman on the 10 year old boy made him capable of answering all his questions. Paramacharya also conferred on "Sri Rangaswami the title of "Mantra Murthi"". He then requested Lord Hanuman not to come at random and reveal his presence only when invoked fervently
