Sri Chandrasekharendra Sarawati of Kanchi Kamakoti Mutt was camping in Kalahasti. When Narasimhan came there, many activities were going there like Puja, Veda Parayanam etc. In the midst of his heavy engagements, Narasimhan had come to meet His Holiness, pay obeisance to him and return to Calcutta by the train leaving at 6.30 PM for which reservation was already made. When he enquired whether he can meet Swamigal, he was told that that Swamigal was taking rest. Though he was in a hurry, he decided to wait.
Sri Narasimhan was a great industrialist in Calcutta and also a great devotee of Paramacharya of Kanchi. I was an ordinary employee in his office at that time. Narasimhan moved very closely with Kanchi Acharya and was implementing many projects visualized by Acharya. At the command of Acharya, he established a Veda Patasala at Calcutta which still functions successfully, imparting knowledge on Vedas and Upanishads. Whenever he came to South, he made it a practice to visit Paramacharya and this time also he decided to make a hurried trip to Kalahasti where Acharya was camping, pay obeisance and then return.
When Acharya came out of his room, he cast a glance over all assembled devotees. Narasimhan had sent a word through someone that he wanted to Acharya but Acharya was engaged in his own duties very calmly, quietly and peacefully. Time was trickling and it appeared there was no immediate prospect of meeting Acharya. Narasimhan was worried that if he missed the train, he would be forced to stay in Ashram premises for the night and think of alternative modes of reaching Calcutta. At last, when the needle of the clock reached 6, Swamigal called Narasimhan to him and said: "I observed that you were very tense from the beginning. Probably, you are returning today evening itself. Do not worry. Go to the station now and you would be able to board your train. Here is the Prasad." Narasimhan bowed before Swamigal, received the Prasad and left. When he reached the station, it was 9.30 PM, three hours after the scheduled departure time of the train.
Surprisingly, Narasimhan found that his train for Calcutta was slowly grinding to a halt in the station. The train was late by three hours. It is a baffling question how Swamigal knew it. We seek to know things from our sense instruments but great saints like Acharya know things through their spiritual vision.
