and Eyes Filled with Tears, Bhakta Hanuman is Present; I Salute Maruti Who puts an End to evil.

In Tamil Nadu Hanumath Jayanthi is observed during Margashirsha Amavasya. Most of the time, Margashirsha Amavasya coincides with Moolam Nakshatram. It is believed that God Hanuman was born during Margashirsha Amavasya when Moolam Nakshatram was prevailing. This year Margazhi Moolam & Amavasa also coincides with January 1stthe English New Year that the whole world is celebrating.

Margazhi Moolam has another speciality.  Paruthiyur Periyava Brahmasri Ramayanam Sri Krishna Sastri started his first public Pravachana as a child Prodigy, at the Hanuman Temple in the Sethu Bava Mutt, Mannargudi, on the banks of Hridra Nadi on Marghazhi Moolam Amavasa, Hanuman Jayanthi Day! This year Wednesday, 1st, January 2014, is the 108th Hanumar Jayanthi Festival at the Paruthiyur Temple!

In the Ramayana, Hanuman is said to have rescued Sani, from the clutches of Ravana. In gratitude, Sani Bhagavan promised Hanuman that those who prayed to him (Hanuman) would be rescued from the painful effects of Saturn, which in Hindu astrology, is said to produce malefic effects on one's life when one is afflicted 'negatively' with Saturn. Paruthiyur Anjaneya stands on a pedestal and has Rama's favorite disciple in a wide eyed expression indicating his ever-present enthusiasm to serve his Lord. This Anjaneya facing the East, wards off the troubles caused by bad influences of the planets - graha dhosha and Bhaktas get purification of heart (Chitta-suddhi) and confers all prosperity - Ashta Aishwarya. The Tulasi Teertha from this temple is very special.
