A small episode in Mahabharata,,.................................

A small episode in Mahabharata , Krishna and Balarama  were going to the forest and by then the Sun has already set and it was dark. It was olden days so there was no Forest lodges or resorts for people to stay . So Krishna came up with a proposal to Balarama . I will go to sleep and you keep watching me . Whenever you feel sleepy , you wake me up and I will start watching so that you can go to sleep. Krishna went to sleep .

 Balarama who kept loitering to and fro and encountered a monster in the forest. The monster screamed at Balarama and he was shaken up by the monster shrank size and Monster became bigger than Balarama. The monster screamed one more time , Balarama shrank even further and monster became even bigger. As a last attempt the monster screamed at Balarama and unable to take the might of the Monster , Balarama screamed “ Krishna” and fainted. Hearing the call of Balarama , Krishnan woke up.

 Though Balarama has fainted , Krishna mistook that Balarama is sleeping and Krishna started walking to & fro. So the monster is seeing a new person standing in front of him screamed at him one more time. Krishna instead of getting perturbed stair at the monster and asked him what do you want ? The courage of Krishna, made Krishna expand and monster shrink. The Monster once again screamed at Krishna and Krishnan again asked the question “ what do you want” ? and the monster shrunk even further and Krishna expanded even more. 

The epic goes that Krishna takes that monster and ties a knot in the end of his Dhothi and places the monster inside. The Sun did rise and Balarama and Krishna began to walk . As they were walking , it seems Balarama told Krishna “ You don’t know what happened last night . a monster came and it was threatening us so much “ ! Krishna gently took the monster from his dhoti and showed the monster to the Balarama and asked – Are you talking about this ? Balarama said when I saw this , this was so big and how is that it has become so small ? 

Veda Vyas through the voice of Krishna says “ When you avoid what you must face in life , it becomes bigger than you and takes control over you. When you face what you must face, you become bigger than it and you take control over it .

The monster what Veda Vyas is referring is all the challenges that we face in life . If you keep avoiding what you must face in life , these challenges becomes Monstrous and they gain control over you. Instead face what you must face and you become larger than it and you gain the control over them . So when you realize the very challenges of life, the experiences of the life , the very tough times of life are not the furnaces to burn you , but to transform you to a glittering gold . The very purpose of experiences of life is to make you what you can be.

So now onward whenever you face anything in life always remember it has been given to you for a purpose for you to become , what you can become.
